NYC-based choreographer Allison Plamondon has been creating movement to Tchaikovsky since early 2014. “I have always appreciated his music popularly used for ballet but only recently fell in love with his full, epic body of work. I find it incredibly inspiring to choreograph to music of such emotional scale and it has challenged me to expand my movement vocabulary and make bold concept choices.”
The hour long program will include the poetic piece “Delusions Of Grandeur”, the evocative “Souvenir D’un Lieu Cher”, as well as three world premiere vignettes performed by a versatile cast of 14.
Russian master composer Tchaikovsky has enchanted listeners all over the world. His memorable symphonies and most performed ballets include Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. Russian writer Anton Chekhov is a master of the modern short story and a leading playwright of the late 19th and 20th centuries.
